Happy Birthday!! Part 2

Daddy was just a little grumpy today, so we almost grounded him from his birthday party... but I spent way too much time on the meal planning to NOT have a birthday party... and after all... it IS his day right?!
We had a big evening planned for Daddy! Ashlyn went a couple of days before to see if we could borrow Allison's massage chair (Spencer and Allison decided it was more important to go to HAWAII than to come to CJ's birthday... WHATEVER!!!). Then Daddy had the complete birthday work over...

A massage by Ashlyn

Drink service by Kailey

And a check-up from Canyon, just to be sure everything was going ok...

Then a massage by Kailey

And dinner service... his requested meal, Beef Stroganoff. Followed by the most fabulous cake I have ever made... if I do say so myself. CJ, for some reason I will never be able to figure out, enjoys eating his cake in a bowl... with milk. A while back Kandis (WE MISS YOU KANDIS... PLEASE COME HOME!!) brought home a piece of Tres Leches cake, and what better than soggy yucky cake than Tres Leches... a cake that is supposed to be soggy... but by no means mushy and yucky. I would have posted a picture of the cake... but it was eaten tooo fast... yes, a cake in our home gone in 1 day... I never thought it would happen!

Then presents... we can't forget presents. For those in my family this game will look familiar... and since we are so far away, I had to buy it :0( (We're hoping and hoping that a game a Washoes will show up too)

Now the logic behind the gift... when we were on our day camp out Saturday, Boyd beat both Blake and CJ BAD at horseshoes. CJ said he wanted a horseshoe set so he could practice and then Boyd wouldn't have "home field advantage". So I figured it would be better that CJ (and Blake) have their very own game to have "home field advantage" with, to beat the pants off their friends!!

Daddy was very surprised with his birthday party since he thought it was all over with on Saturday

(yes Tawna... reenactment)

And poor Canyon.. he just waited and waited for his turn ;0)

I look forward to next year!

Happy Birthday!! Part 1

CJ had a birthday!! Blake "guessed" 45... Kailey guessed 14... I guess he's somewhere in between there! I did, as I so love to do, tried to outdo any other birthday he's ever had. Eventually I will have to catch up with myself and realize I wont be able to afford to outdo the year before, but I will continue while I can!
His birthday was Tuesday, but we had our first celebration on Saturday with Boyd and Anna and their family. I wanted to be able to do something outside with him, since that is where CJ is happiest, so I called upon Boyd. He had a few great ideas, and after meal planning and confirming with Anna, we were to meet at their house at 10:30 am (CJ didn't even know we were planning anything until that morning at 10:30 when Anna called asking where we were... I had to give her permission to tell him he was spoiling his own surprise). IT WAS AFTER NOON when we finally got there (we love CJ don't we!! He is always very prompt!)... and ate lunch... forget the picnic... its past lunch time... we're hungry!!! I think it was close to 2 when we finally left their house. Because it was well into the afternoon we decided it would be best to not go too far and just went up into the hills behind our house.... we had an awesome time (as we always do with Boyd and Anna... thanks guys!!!)!

First we sent the kids off for rocks to build a fire pit Kailey couldn't participate because she left her socks on the trampoline at Boyd and Anna's and very quickly got a blister on her heal ... and Canyon was content... for a while... with his trains (NEVER forget the trains when Canyon is involved!)... until we almost had to call search and rescue to come find him... do you see him wayyyyy up the trail?... OK, so we actually didn't have to almost call search and rescue... but we had a whole entire day without any drama (besides a blister)... very unusual for us!

And, once again - the women behind all things wonderful in the lives of these families... ok, ok... maybe that a little thick... anyway... here we are

Boyd and Ceej enjoyed some good bonding time

(sorry guys... I had to add it! This IS NOT what it has the potential of looking like!!! :0) CJ was trying to make Boyd into a trophy buck... maybe that doesn't sound right either???)

Canyon's favorite part was playing with a Frisbee ... even after he threw it and fell in dead tumbleweed bushes and got stuck

The guys collected firewood and built a fire

We ate fire roasted hot dogs...

S'mores... and played games...

Kailey, Mallory and Ally even found some bones (Mallory and Ally had moved on by the time I got around to the picture part)

And at the very end of the day... we were all exhausted!!

What a GREAT day! We love you CJ!!!

So many updates.. so little time!

Well, we have had a lot going on lately! First of all... KAILEY IS ALL READY FOR KINDERGARTEN!! She was a trooper getting her shots, so for her "reward" we went to the school and get her all registered for Kindergarten... so hard to beleive! It kinda makes me sad, but she is very ready! Grammy JoJo... we have to be sure to learn shoe-tying this summer!!

We also got a pet... well actually 3 pets!!! Blake was asked to another dance (I was in bed so I don't have any fun pictures of this one)... what does this have to do with pets you ask... WELLLLL... how he was asked was via poster that said "If fishes were wishes and you could have 3 would one of them be to go to Morp with me?" (Morp is Prom spelled backwards thats why she was asking him) so along side the poster were 3 fishes. One was black, and 2 were orange. Blake, being the good uncle that he is gifted his fishes to the kids. They decided Ashlyn would get the black one and she named it Cocoa, Kailey's would be the big orange one and she named it Angel, and Canyon's would be the little orange one which HE named Mavis (Mavis is one of Thomas the Train's train friends)... after Kailey tried to name it Peanut (????... only Kaiely would think to name a goldfish Peanut)

I have noticed that Ash isn't in many pictures... so..... heres Ashy too

Cute hair huh?!?!?! That was one of her shopping days with Grammy in Spokane. We love it! I know, I know... she IS beautiful!!

Daddy also got his dream bike... not sure if this one will end up selling or not (or I should say I dont know if he will TRY selling this or not), but when you try justify the gas mileage with his F350 it would kind of make it worth it to keep (... I'll have to get a better picture, its a GoldWing)

We also had an early birthday celebration for Daddy... but in an attempt to not make this post tooooo huge... I will post that tomorrow!! :0)
