CJ update #2

GOOD NEWS!!!

SO this time when the doctor said all the new MRI's and CT's came out with nothing significant it wasn't quite so devastating (believe it or not). The reason for this, is that on Sunday night CJ decided to call the doctor that performs the NCR treatments in Denver to leave a message and see if he could get squeezed in sometime this week, while still in town. He called at about 8:00 on Sunday night... and the DOCTOR ANSWERED the phone!!! They had a long conversation and the doctor told CJ to be there Monday (yesterday) morning at 8. They met for almost 3 hours. They found that these treatments will probably significantly help CJ!!!!
The head (faces and skulls) are made up of 6 plates which contain a total of 72 (or 78... something like that) patterns, and this therapy helps to manipulate these patterns so that they are lined up and your body can function more properly (here is the website... I will spare you too many extra details) . The have a special scan they do for patients looking into the treatment and when they scanned CJ they found that 55 of CJ's 70-whatever plate patterns are misaligned, and this therapy will line them up. We felt comfortable with this after months of research, and what makes it even more comfortable is that the doctor is only about 6 months away from his doctorate in Neurology... so he knows the makeup of the neurological system!!
CJ is there this morning for his first of many treatments, and we're not sure when he'll see improvements, but really feel like he will. He has treatments every day for the rest of the week, then he'll come home Friday night and we'll figure out if we need to relocate to Denver or not, so to cut down on (traveling) expenses getting to this doctor.... we're not sure how the costs for all of this are going to come together, but somehow we know they will.

OH one more up side... when he called Dr. Oro (the neurosurgeon) to get the results of the imaging CJ had done Friday night, and the doctor explained that he saw nothing significant... he also said he RECOMMENDED the NCR therapy!!! We fell like we're on the right track!!
I will keep you updated about how the therapy is going!

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. The support of friends and family means more than I can say.

Fun Stuff

I just wanted to be sure I showed how much fun we're still having, despite some of the trials.... because here at this Larson house... WE HAVE FUN!!

So, without further ado, here has been out last couple weeks...

Canyon finished off his birthday with what??? A package from Grammy and Papa, of course

MORE TRAINS!!!
And a package from Nina..

He has also been playing with a couple of his other favorite things...

the neighbors 2 kittens.
He LOVES titty tats!! And amazingly enough they are both pretty tolerant of him. The little girl, Cassie, will put up with just about anything. The other day he was outside playing with his little friend Arlen, and I was reading a book. I looked up to see this...

Yep, Canyon scooped up the titty tat and took it for a ride. What was even more fascinating was the fact that the titty tat stayed in his arms, on the bike, long enough for me to run in the house, grab the camera, and take a picture!!

(This seems to be a lot of Canyon so far!... but there's more)

POTTY TRAINED!!!

How much do we love Thomas???

Well... almost. He can manage an entire day in underwear, but he won't.... #2, until I put his diaper on for bedtime. We're getting there though!!

While Daddy's away....

THE GIRLS WILL PLAY!!!

The girls have been dying for me to do make overs on them. It's one of their favorite things to do... so I indulged. It was fun, and besides the fact that they each looked wayyy too old... they were pretty darn cute!!

I gave Canyon a haircut on Saturday too!... Mom, I even shaved the long fuzzies off the back of his neck... finally!!So handsome!!

Ashlyn lost another tooth!!! I don't know how the tooth fairy does it!! Not just the money part... but somehow she remembers to put it out before the morning comes too! AMAZING!

And did I mention we know how to have fun?!?!

CJ Update #1

Simply put... Back to square one!!
It was initially very disappointing to hear that the original brain surgery WORKED!!! All of the MRI's and CT's showed that CJ's brain flow looked good, and there are no negative effects from re-damage... so now we're back to WHY????
He went back in Friday night for some more CT's and MRI's... the doctor thinks the problem could be either in the spinal column or in the brain itself (a ruptured vessel that possibly could have sealed off when it healed diverting the spinal fluid down another path), OR too much spinal flow (which is the OPPOSITE of what we have thought all these years).
The encouragement has come with DR. Oro telling CJ that he wont give up until they figure out whats wrong, so CJ hasnt been left hanging. He is going to stay in Denver until at least Monday when he hears back from the doctor, and if more tests are needed he will just stay.
So good news... no surgery... "bad" news... no surgery... yet.
There were lots more specific details, but not being there I dont remember them all and I am sure that some of you dont want all the nitty gritty anyway.

I will update again Monday with, hopefully, some news!!
