The title sounds pretty sappy huh?!?! Well.... its not! I just couldn't think of anything else to call it!!
ANYWAY.... our family was invited, for free, to stay in a cabin up in the mountains near Park City this week. We decided to go in the middle of the week so #1 CJ wouldn't miss basketball, and #2 so CJ could be sure to work this weekend (ok, so maybe thats not the correct order). What a fun experience this was! We have had such a great summer so far in that we have gotten to do several really fun things, and this one is right up there at the top.
First of all... this is the cabin
We got there Wednesday and the 5 of us loaded up on the 4 wheeler and went on a tour. What beautiful country!
And here is a brief tour of the cabin...
this is the deck... where we ate breakfast (we didn't want this to be too expensive so our breakfast was cereal!)
This is the view from that deck
this is the enclosed porch (needs to be cleaned out because they've stored their deck stuff in there for the winter). This is an AWESOME space!
This is the loft/family room
And this is the living room looking down from the loft
This is the deck off the room where the kids slept
This was Canyon's piece of Heaven
And this was Kailey's
Ashlyn was on the 4 wheeler with Daddy for most of the day Thursday! They saw 7 moose!!! They came and picked us up in the truck and we tried to track them back down. We saw a mommy bedded down with a baby.
Canyon decided it would be best if he drove
then it got the best of him. I'm glad Daddy was there to help.
We also saw deer and 2 little baby beavers
Sounds too good to be true doesn't it!?!? Well, there was a catch... if you want to call it that! The reason for the invitation is that we are thinking of moving up there! Right now it depends on whether or not Blake will be coming back for his senior year. There wouldn't be much privacy... his "bedroom" would be the family room... not sure how that would work... so we'll see. We told the owners that we would let them know in the next 24 hours.

Birthday Party!!!
Kailey's 5th birthday started out a couple days early when we got a package in the mail from Grammy and Papa... with several presents inside!
She will now be adorned with new shoes, outfits and jewelry How much more can a little girl ask for...
OH YES... POLLY POCKETS!!
And we got to do it all on the webcam (see living far away isn't so bad?!?... we're still waiting for Grammy and Grampy Larson to get up on it!)
How much can you say about a 5th birthday party?! First of all CUPCAKES!! We saw a picture on a website of these really cool, bright cupcakes... I just had to try them. They were SO FUN! She originally wanted a circus party... this was the best I could do (it's an animal cookie carousel.... cake decorating isn't my forte, just yet, but I am hoping to go to some classes at a place like Michael's... eventually)
She kept changing her mind... so we went with the first thought. Then.... we had so much fun at her party! We had a water balloon race (which Canyon absolutely COULD NOT handle... he felt that water balloons were only made to be popped... he's probably right).
We played musical chairs
AND we had a fruit roll-up eating race (you tie the fruit roll up to a string and see who can eat it the fasted without using their hands... the rules should be amended to say you can't pull off the whole thing and eat it in one bite too). I don't have any pictures of that one though. Somehow canyon managed to get fruit roll-up on the back of his neck?!?! I really wish I had a picture of that.
Kailey adored each and every one of her presents and was thankful that several of her friends were able to come celebrate with us.
And thank you ESPECIALLY for Allison and Spencer for letting us use their yard for this AWESOME birthday party!!!
I'm glad you had such a fun birthday Kailey!!! We sure love you!!!

Happy Anniversary
The last 6 years of my life have been so full of ups and downs, laughter and doctors appointments, children and memories. The best part of it is that I could have done NONE of it without the support and endurance of this man
I can't say I wouldn't trade any of it because, lets face it, there have been some really difficult times. HOWEVER, knowing that for whatever reason I have needed to go through these trials - I couldn't be more thankful than to have had to endure them with you, afterall I help the body and you help the heart - we make a great team! I love you with all my heart.
